Support RMS with a year-end donation

We're proud to report the historic growth of our programs and membership in 2021, and we are looking forward to an even more impactful 2022. Here's a look back at some accomplishments this year, and we hope you will help us keep up the momentum by donating to help us reach our end-of-year goal of $2,500.

  • Our River Training Center has ramped up the opportunities for training and collaboration like never before. This includes training for new and seasoned river managers, students, and those looking to create a more inclusive workplace culture on their rivers. In addition to training that's open to all, we hosted several Wild and Scenic workshops tailored to specific rivers' needs.
  • We've hosted River Management Roundtables with either On the River or Workplace Culture themes. These are open forums for sharing and learning from one another on technical and interpersonal topics relevant for river professionals and are open to the public.
  • Our National Rivers Project interactive map and river database now includes 1,995 river sections, 14,613 access points: 14,613 and 723 campgrounds.
  • Three new universities signed on to offer the River Studies and Leadership Certificate to bring the total to 12, and we've celebrated four new RSLC graduates! With the assistance of member volunteers, we are hosting guidance sessions for RSLC students as they evaluate opportunities in river management, related employment fields, and other 'next steps' through our interactive Braided Channels sessions.
  • We hosted over 200 attendees in seven topical tracks at the 2021 River Management Symposium, together with our partners at the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation and Virginia Commonwealth University.

RMS is the hub for information sharing across state lines and between agencies and non-profits. It is the only organization working exclusively to connect and support river professionals like state and federal agency staff, outfitters and guides, rangers, planners and landscape architects, fluvial geomorphologists, environmental lawyers and policymakers, students, professors, researchers and authors. Your support is essential for us to continue this important work.
