Prepare to Make Your Site Decisions

River Access Planning Series - Part 2 of 2
Participants will follow steps 3 and 4, as outlined in the River Access Planning Guide, to explore case studies of site selection, some successful, and some where access was forced in an inappropriate location. Participants will learn techniques for determining what types of access may be desired, where recreational access and habitat restoration should occur, and which locations are priorities, given limited funding.

Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:
  • Ask questions that should surface factors, trends, constraints and opportunities that are important to acknowledge in the consideration of a site design and the facility’s management plan.
  • Determine if the setting characteristics allow for the uses to occur and absorb the scale of possible uses.
