John Anderson, R.A. is an architect and former whitewater slalom competitor turned whitewater designer. John has specialized in river recreation since 1991 and has worked on dam removals river restorations, competitive whitewater venues, fish passage and boat passage projects. Several of his projects have included hand carry boat launches and commercial raft launches.

Duncan Hay is a lifelong paddler who now works as a hydropower licensing specialist with the Northeast Region of the National Park Service and as historian with Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor. He was project manager in developing hand-launch guidelines for New York's canals (2021), a contributor to the New York State Canalway Water Trail Guidebook (2019), and author of the National Historic Landmark nomination for the 450-mile Canal System (2016).
