Many people who live and recreate along the waterways of the 15-state Ohio River Basin don’t actually realize they’re part of the basin. The Ohio River Basin Alliance (ORBA) is working to change that with a new awareness campaign: #OhioRiverBasinProud.

Led by ORBA’s Nature-Based Recreation Committee—including partners from the River Management Society and the Ohio River Way—this initiative highlights recreational opportunities across the basin and helps build a stronger, more connected community around our rivers.

Help us reach our 2026 goal of 60 co-branded events!

If you organize or volunteer for river or watershed-related events—paddling trips, cleanups, festivals, educational programs, or similar activities—we invite you to co-brand your event with #OhioRiverBasinProud. In return, ORBA will:

• Feature your event on the interactive Ohio River Basin event map
• Provide stickers and outreach materials to help promote the campaign
• Send you #OhioRiverBasinProud swag as a thank-you
