Member's Virtual Town Hall to discuss Chapter Districts

The RMS Chapter Presidents recently sought comments from members on a proposed chapter restructuring designed to address the challenge of finding and retaining chapter leadership. We are pleased to report that 40+ comments were submitted. Comments ranged from supporting the proposed restructuring, keeping the chapters as-is, and suggesting alternative chapter alignments. Thank you all for your interest, engagement, and valuable input.
Organizational restructuring is a large decision, and we would like to provide an additional opportunity for RMS members to express their thoughts. We will be holding a virtual town hall-style meeting Thursday March 11th at 4pm (EST) for all RMS members to weigh in with additional thoughts, comments, or concerns. The Zoom information is listed below.
Based on the initial round of comments we received, three main chapter structure options stood out:
  1. Maintain existing chapter structure and work to increase engagement with underrepresented chapters.
  2. Adopt or further amend the proposed chapter restructuring with five chapters.
  3. Design a new chapter boundary structure using major watershed delineations.
During the town hall meeting, we will focus on these three options, but are also open to other thoughts. We look forward to continuing this discussion and hearing from you!  Thank you all for your membership and support of RMS.
