River Management Workshops

For many years the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Forest Service (FS), National Park Service (NPS) and Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) took turns hosting an Interagency River Management Workshop. The U.S. Forest Service hosted the 2007 workshop in Missoula, MT. The 2009 workshop was hosted by the National Park Service in Yosemite, CA and in 2011 the River Management Workshop and 30th Annual International Submerged Lands Conference (ISLMC) teamed up with support from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources (see link). in 2013, the BLM supported River Crossings: Linking River Communities, a Research Conference and Workshop in Grand Junction, Colorado, produced by RMS and the Tamarisk Coalition. See the 2013 presentations here.

The River Management Society has been proud to co-sponsor these excellent professional development and networking workshops,  open to all current and future river professionals (not just agency personnel), address timely river management topics, and provide great networking, problem-solving and training opportunities for current and future professionals interested in rivers.
