Seeking experience and examples for a Hydro Project Accessibility Resource

In a continuing effort to collect resources that serve hydropower practitioners, the River Management Society, with support from the National Park Service, seeks examples of accessibility improvements that have been planned or built at hydropower projects. By 'accessibility,' we are referring to physical amenities and their consideration and accommodation for people with disabilities when parking, viewing, walking, picnicking, or paddling.

Examples include hydropower licenses and settlements that require accessible spaces and facilities to access Project reservoirs and affected rivers and provide for specific, adaptive recreation infrastructure. We would also like to learn about interpretation and messaging that allows visitors to expect potential barriers on site and decide for themselves if the facilities suit their needs.

Hydropower Projects - Accessibility Resources Form offers space for providing project information about specific projects. We also ask for interest from those who would like to help us organize and publish the material contributed to this accessibility resource.
