Registration open for 2024 Wild and Scenic River Training Series

Join us for an immersive and collaborative training series that enhances your Wild and Scenic Rivers expertise! This series, designed for professionals engaged with WSRs, isn't just about learning—it's about fostering a community of practice. We aim to educate individuals working directly or indirectly with Wild and Scenic Rivers and equip them with practical skills, strategies, and insights to optimize their roles. Expect more than passive learning; anticipate engaging discussions, interactive elements, and opportunities to connect with like-minded professionals. Dive into the world of Wild and Scenic Rivers, learning practical skills that streamline your work and elevate your contribution to protecting and enhancing these resources.

This series is open to RMS members and non-members. Registration is $15 per session, or free for RMS members. RMS membership is $60 annually at the Individual level. Learn more about the features and benefits of membership and join today on our Membership page.

River Training Center instructors will facilitate the series using Zoom and request that participants come ready with their cameras on and microphones enabled, ready to connect and learn together. Participation in all six sessions is requested but not required.

Materials are aligned with the vision of the Interagency Wild & Scenic Rivers Coordinating Council and the Technical Core Competencies for River Management Specialists and Non-Specialists. You can find more WSR training resources here or at rivers.gov.

The target audience includes agency and partner staff involved in Wild & Scenic River program planning, coordination, partnership development, stakeholder communication, implementation and decision-making, visitor management and safety, natural and cultural resource management, impact monitoring and assessment, and other related activities.
