2022 Career Prep Discussion Series

From September through November, the RMS River Training Center will host a four-part discussion series to help introduce and prepare students for success in river management careers. Certificate Recipients Aim to Make a Splash in Water Conservation, Environmental Justice

River Management Society presents 2022 River Studies and Leadership Certificates

The River Management Society (RMS) recently announced its 2022 River Studies and Leadership Certificate (RSLC) recipients: Virginia Commonwealth University graduate Sensairanay Duty-Stone of Richmond, Virginia, and Colorado Mesa University’s first RSLC recipient Sierra Lucero of Montrose, Colorado. This certificate, unique to RSLC institutions, is awarded upon completion of interdisciplinary coursework and a field-based practicum in river-based science, policy, conservation, education and recreation.

Calling all River Loving Professors!

Learn how the River Studies and Leadership Certificate opens the study and practice of river management for students, seasoned with your commitment to healthy water resources and safe recreation on our nation’s rivers.

Professors who understand the wonder, complexity and environmental imperative of river study, protection and management are invited to attend an information session on the River Studies and Leadership Certificate (RSLC), a program offered by the River Management Society (RMS) that prepares undergraduate and graduate students for river-based careers.

Ohio River Basin Restoration Plan Listening Sessions

Please consider attending a listening session to help shape a regional plan to address water pollution issues and drinking water contamination in the 14-state Ohio River region.

The National Wildlife Federation, Ohio River Basin Alliance, and partners in the 14-state Ohio River region are hosting a series of listening sessions this summer to get community input into a regional plan to restore and protect the Ohio River, its tributaries, and surrounding habitat in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
