River Management Symposium

River Management Symposium Header

Every other year, the River Management Society hosts an international training on topics related to river management and planning. They provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and the vetting of policies and strategies concerning river management, and encourage the formation of networks and partnerships among a broad range of river professionals. Proceedings and other RMS publications are available to members and other participants.

"I thought it was remarkably well-managed, and I learned a great deal and enjoyed the sessions..." - John McCarthy, Piedmont Environmental Council

2025 RMS Symposium

Join us April 8-10, 2025, in Ashland, Oregon! Our theme "Restoring Rivers for a Resilient Future" coincides with the world's largest dam removal, currently underway on the Klamath River. We'll explore the concepts of river recovery, reconnection and renewal at this three day training workshop. Stay tuned for more information! We'll open the call for proposals in late Spring 2024 and open registration Fall 2024.
